Description:

The site of America's first gold rush, the Consolidated Gold Mines offers underground tours of an old gold mine and the opportunity to pan for gold. Located just northeast of Dahlonega, the mines are easily accessible from town. A guide leads 45-minute tours through the mines, followed by the opportunity to pan for gold; alternately, gold and gemstone panning can be done without taking the tour.

Hours of Operation:

Open Summer, 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.; Winter, 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

Admission Details:

Underground Mine Tour: Adults $11; Children 4-14 $7; Children 3 and under are free. Gold Panning: Regular Panning $6; High-Grade Panning $11. Gemstone Mining: Kiddie Bucket $7; Regular Bucket $10; Deluxe Bucket $15.
